There is no easy way to tighten the serpentine belt. And that is an issue. #1 suspect if you hear the belt squeal when you turn the AC on is a loose belt. If you have, then it's a good idea to disconnect the battery negative, wait a minute or so, and then reconnect to force the ECU to relearn the engine behavior. About two months after I bought it I started having problems with the a/c, with it not turning on or blowing cold, despite having new freon. It turns out that when they changed the scion Tc wheel pattern from 5x100 to 5x114.3 they also increased the hub center as well to 60.1mm. If you have, then it's a good idea to disconnect the battery negative, wait a minute or so, and then reconnect to force the ECU to relearn the engine behavior.
